Frequently Asked Questions
What Services Do You Provide?
I work at the intersection of clinical practice, scholarly research, and faith-integrated approaches to help organizations, faith communities, and emerging professionals move beyond wellness buzzwords toward sustainable transformation.
For organizations and institutions, I provide strategic consultation that starts with assessment rather than assumptions. We examine your culture, policies, and the conditions creating chronic stress or turnover, then design research-backed interventions tailored to your mission and values. I also deliver keynote addresses and workshops—substantive presentations grounded in research and practice, not motivational content that fades by Monday morning.
For faith communities, I partner with congregations ready to build congregational care that's both biblically sound and clinically informed. This includes assessing mental health needs, designing faith-integrated programs like my Selah & Abide model, equipping ministry leaders, and creating sustainable practices that honor theological convictions and trauma-informed care.
For emerging professionals—Master's-level clinicians, doctoral candidates, and early-career social workers and clinicians—I offer mentorship focused on developing your identity as a justice-oriented, faith-integrated practitioner. This isn't about telling you what kind of professional to become. It's about helping you discern who you're called to be and how to integrate your values with professional excellence.
The goal isn't quick fixes. It's tending the soil where sustainable transformation can actually take root.
How Can I Engage Your Services?
Every engagement begins with a conversation. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all approaches, so before we discuss partnership, I want to understand what you're carrying, what you're hoping for, and whether my work is the right fit for your needs.
Start by reaching out via the contact form or by email. Tell me about your context—whether you're an organizational leader noticing burnout patterns, a faith community wanting to build mental health support, a conference organizer seeking a substantive speaker, or an emerging professional needing mentorship. I'll respond within two to three business days to schedule an initial consultation call.
During that conversation, we'll explore what's actually happening beneath the surface. What symptoms are you seeing? What have you tried? What values guide your work? What does transformation look like in your context? This isn't a sales pitch—it's a genuine assessment of whether partnership makes sense.
If we're aligned, I'll develop a proposal tailored to your needs. Organizational consultation typically spans several months as we assess, design, implement, and evaluate. Speaking engagements might be single events. Faith community partnerships range from workshops to multi-year program development. Professional mentorship is ongoing with regular sessions.
What I don't do: drop in, deliver content, and disappear. I'm committed to sustainable change, which means staying engaged long enough to see if what we're cultivating is bearing fruit.
Ready to explore partnership? Use the contact form. Let's have the conversation.
What Can I Expect from Your Speaking Engagements?
You can expect me to take your organization seriously—seriously enough to tell you the truth, challenge assumptions, and examine what's actually creating the conditions you're trying to change.
We start with assessment, not solutions. Before recommending anything, I need to understand your culture, mission, the populations you serve, and what's happening beneath the surface. This involves leadership interviews, staff surveys, focus groups, and policy review. I'm looking for patterns—what the data reveals about systemic conditions and barriers to wellness that might not be immediately visible.
Next is strategic planning. Based on assessment findings, I design interventions tailored to your context—grounded in research, responsive to your culture, aligned with your mission. We're not adding more programs. We're examining how wellness can be woven into how you hire, train, lead, and sustain your people.
Then comes implementation support. I don't hand you a plan and walk away. We work together to roll out practices, build buy-in, address resistance, and create accountability. This might include leadership coaching, manager training, staff workshops, and ongoing consultation as challenges emerge.
Finally, we evaluate and adjust. We establish clear metrics from the beginning—what does success look like? We track progress, gather feedback, and make adjustments. If something isn't producing fruit, we prune it and cultivate what's working.
Throughout, you'll get research-backed frameworks, values-driven approaches (justice-oriented, equity-focused, and for faith-based organizations, theologically sound), honest feedback when I see blind spots, and collaborative partnership that respects your leadership.
What I won't do: tell you what you want to hear if it's not what you need. Implement surface-level solutions. Work with organizations that want wellness optics without examining their own practices.
If you're ready for consultation that goes deeper than most are willing to go, let's talk.
