About
The Work Behind the Work
There's a question that shows up in everything I do, in my clinical work, my research, my teaching, and my own journey: What does it look like to pursue wholeness in a world that's broken in ways both seen and unseen?
I'm a DSW student at California Baptist University, a licensed marriage and family therapist maintaining a private practice, a graduate teaching assistant for MSW courses in mental health and social policy, and the Director of Counseling at The View Church. I also mentor emerging clinicians navigating the path toward licensure and partner with organizations and faith communities who are asking better questions about what holistic wellness actually requires.
My doctoral research focuses on faith-integrated mindfulness interventions for Black women—specifically addressing chronic stress related to systemic racism, gendered expectations, and cultural narratives that prioritize strength over self-care. My comprehensive project, Selah & Abide, is a healing circle program that combines scripture-rooted practices with research-backed approaches to stress reduction and community healing. This work addresses the Social Work Grand Challenges of Closing the Health Gap and Eliminating Racism—not as abstract goals, but as concrete commitments.
I'm drawn to the places where clinical practice meets social justice, where faith meets scholarship, where individual healing intersects with systemic change. Because you can't separate a person's well-being from the communities, systems, and beliefs that shape how they understand themselves and what flourishing is even possible.
This isn't about quick fixes or spiritual platitudes. It's about cultivating practices—personal, organizational, communal—that are aligned with God's design for human flourishing, informed by research that honors how we're actually made, and responsive to the real conditions people are living in.

Credentials
Education & Licensure
I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from CSU Dominguez Hills and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from CSU Long Beach. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT #53584) and am currently in the fifth os six semesters completing my Doctor of Social Work at California Baptist University, with an expected graduation date of August 2026. My doctoral research focuses on faith-integrated mindfulness interventions for chronic stress in marginalized communities, addressing the Social Work Grand Challenges of Closing the Health Gap and Eliminating Racism.
My clinical experience spans over 15 years across Kaiser Permanente's integrated care model, community mental health agencies, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and private practice—shaping my commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.
Continuous Professional Development
I am committed to staying current through ongoing training in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, and Feedback Informed Care—approaches I've utilized extensively serving diverse populations. As a doctoral student and Research Assistant at California Baptist University, I engage continuously with current literature on mental health interventions, social welfare policy, and culturally responsive practice. I also mentor emerging clinicians pursuing licensure and maintain active membership in the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), National Association of Black Social Workers (NABSW), and Christian Association of Psychological Studies (CAPS), ensuring my practice reflects the latest advancements while remaining grounded in justice, integrity, and holistic care.
Clinical & Consultation Specializations
My expertise encompasses trauma-informed therapy, faith-integrated mindfulness approaches, and organizational wellness consultation. Clinically, I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, chronic stress, and the effects of systemic oppression. I've facilitated therapeutic groups for neurodiverse youth and created the healing circle support group—a culturally responsive space for Black women focused on rest and strength-based healing.
Beyond clinical work, I consult with organizations and faith communities on building sustainable wellness cultures, helping leadership assess systemic barriers and design research-backed interventions. My approach integrates scholarly rigor, cultural responsiveness, and biblical principles to address the diverse needs of the populations I serve.
Collaborative Impact
Since founding The Fruited Life Family & Marriage Counseling, Inc. in 2021, I've partnered with individuals, organizations, and faith communities ready to build holistic wellness. I serve as Director of Counseling at The View Church, where I've developed congregational care initiatives and equipped ministry leaders to address mental health with theological soundness and clinical competence.
Through my role at California Baptist University, I support emerging social workers and therapists in professional development. My partnerships with Kaiser Permanente, faith communities, and educational institutions are grounded in a shared mission: breaking down systemic barriers to mental wellness and promoting equitable access to care.
Holistic & Faith-Integrated
My approach integrates evidence-based clinical modalities with faith-inspired principles to nurture holistic well-being. Clinical excellence and biblical faithfulness work together when we hold both with integrity. By addressing interconnected dimensions of wellness—mental, emotional, spiritual, relational, and systemic—I help clients and organizations cultivate resilience and sustainable transformation.
This means attending to both what's visible above ground and what's happening beneath the surface. For individuals, this looks like trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy that honors their full story. For organizations and faith communities, it means consultation that examines policies, leadership practices, and cultural dynamics—tending to the conditions that make genuine flourishing possible for everyone.
Transforming Lives & Systems
Over 15 years of practice, my work has helped hundreds of clients develop coping strategies, heal from trauma, build healthier relationships, and discover sustainable wellness practices. I've supported organizations and faith communities in fostering cultures of empowerment and breaking down barriers to mental health care.
From developing social skills groups for neurodiverse youth at Kaiser Permanente to building The View Church's counseling ministry and creating the healing circle support group, my work addresses both immediate needs and long-term systemic change. I'm honored to witness the impact of programs that honor the whole person, challenge unjust systems, and cultivate conditions where holistic well-being becomes a lived reality.
